I'm looking to buy a set of used OEM Audi 16x7 steel wheels off of a 2003 Audi A4 for winter use. I'm going to be mounting a set of winter tires measuring 205/55-16.

I believe the offset for the steelies is around 42 mm.

I suspect that they should fit, can someone please confirm this for me? [help]

if they are 5x112 bolt pattern they will go on but i cant promise that there will be enough clearance between the brake caliper and the wheel when you hit a bump... it will be close IMO

The spare tire for the US Spec VW GTI is a 16" steelie, 16" is placarded on the tire inflation label for this reason. ET 42 will not create a problem.

16" will clear the brakes without difficulty. Yes, at minimum clearance it is a tight fit, but not a problem. Here is a picture of a 16"x7" ET 37 wheel mounted on a GTI (from last winter).

And a picture of a 16x6.5" ET50 mounted on a GTI (this winter)
