I'm wanting to activate my Sirius and am not sure where the ESN # for my radio is located.

Nevermind, I found it in the paperwork. I really wish my dealer would been a little more informative about this kind of stuff. He told me I had to bring the car back into them to get the SAT activated. He wanted to charge me over $300 to have the iPod interface installed (didn't even know about the jack already in the glove-box) and some other little stuff. Oh well.

Okay guys, now unfortunately I must ask how you can find out the ESN for the radio. I called the dealership and they told me to call the VW customer care line; I called them and they told me to call the dealership! Just a dirty runaround Anyway, I've google-searched the hell out of this, and searched every VW forum I can find (including this one), and I can't find the info. If there's a button sequence to press or something, please let me know!

Not sure for Sirius, but with XM, you just need to put on channel 1 and it gives you the radio id#. Hope this helps.

It is in your paperwork. Its in the stereo booklet. I can't recall what I did, but if you don't find it in your papers, I'll go out and look again.

Use the SCAN/TUNE button and tune to station 000 (by rotating the knob). The display would tell you what the serial number is. This is also shown in the owner's manual.

There you go... thats what I was sort of remembering doing. It is in your paperwork though. Mine wasn't in the main part of the manual, it was a supplement for the stereo only. But, it was with the main manual.

I activated my SIRIUS this morning. The information needed for activation is on Channel 1000. Did it over the phone in about 10 minutes.
