I am going to get 15% tint on my black gti.
If you put 35% on your windows you will only have slightly lower than that even with the factory tint. The numbers won't add together like that. I put 20% vlt (visible light transmission) with 11% reflectivity on my United Grey Fast. I usually don't like the mirror stuff, but this tint has a "gunmetal" finish that really looks good on the UG car.so when you throw 35 on top of the 80, you end up with 15% passing thru..
Or you can ask the place your getting the tint at, and they will usually take it off before you get inspected, and then put it back on after. And the will do it for free if you go to the right place.MicMoor77 said:You can either tint your windows within the legal limits of your state, or you can get your car inspected with someone who doesn't care about your tint. Just ask the inspector beforehand.
If you are unsure of your state's law check out this link TintDude.
There is a plethora of information about window tint on this site.
