yeah i have heard about it, rumor has it due to hit the market here in the us in the next few weeks. VW is having some tech issues with it and are trying to work it out. I have also heard it is going to add about 75ish more horsepower and about 100lbs of torque to an already fast car. Time will tell if its a good chip or not. Does not void warranty in anyway so thats a plus. Has anyone heard a price on it yet?

sign me up NOW! Any info on when the chip will be available would be greatly appreciated....Cause let me tell ya, adding 75 more horses to this rocket would put it over the top! Also, does anyone have any idea what the cost of the dealer GROUND EFFECTS KIT would be? and will the dealer install the kit for me? thanks for all the great info!

Hey luke no word on the dealer chip, next couple weeks i am hearing. However i do know how much those ground effects cost. Try a whooping $2500 installed on your ride. You'd almost be better off buying them yourself and adding them on your own. Upto you though if you get it done post pics and let me see.

Thanks for the info "Clemdawg13 " ...OUCH $2500 for the ground effects installed......I think I am gonna wait till the dealer chip is available and then somewhere down the line add the ground effects! Definetly gonna add that chip though .....Let me know in the next few weeks if you hear a definitive on when it will be available!

Here is a link to a chip from APR, its about $600, it gives you a 61 horsepower boost and is undetectable by the dealership. Im waiting for the VW dealer chip, it will allow me to compare and contrast the both of them. Id rather get the dealer chip since it does claim to deliver 75 more horses.
But anyway, here is the link:

I got my GTI last monday, Pearl White package 2 with the ground effects kit and everything. The car i purchased was actually on the showroom floor. They drove it out, washed it, put gas in it and had it ready for me in about 45 minutes. It was so exciting. If anyone wants to see any pics let me know, Ill be posting them soon.

hey did the dealer give you a day when the chip would hit the market. I know once it does i will be one of the first ones to have my Red GTI in line for it. Once i get that i can start to add other things. Let me know thanks

I was just searching around for things that will not void my warranty and the VW chip caught my eye. So is this definitely a no go? I was hoping until i read the last post on this...
