We had a test Solstice for a while, so I signed it out thinking I might like to get one (or a Sky). It was like a Jeckle and Hyde car. With the top up, I complained non-stop. With it down, I had a grin on the whole time. There was absolutely NO storage or leg room in the car. Very uncomfortable to drive, and blind spots all the way around. I had the lower HP 4 cyl vesion, but it was a bit of a dog. I couldn't see paying $35 k, to get some decent horse power. I gaurantee the GTI beats the base version, and I would put mone on it beating the > HP version as well. But if you are looking for a third car you only take out on nice days when you can lower the top... this is your car.
Oh, with ~ 6,000 miles on the car, the pasenger side door handle did not work on the inside (and no, it was not a child lock issue).
