Had the same problem when I owned my Corrado. No dealers kept parts in stock, so if something major happened, I was screwed. And that, friends, was how I learned about the importance of the rental car coverage on your auto insurance.

Here's what you do...

Head down to the lot, scrape a big chunk of paint off another VW with the same paint you have, then take it down to a reputable body shop for color matching. Then when they tell you that all they needed was the make and color name so they could look up the right mix, I'd suggest encasing the sample you "collected" yourself in resin and making a nice, decorative keychain from it.
