Top end of 5th gear?
How fast have you gone in 5th gear? I've gotten up to 140mph in 5th. Does anyone know at what speed 5th gear ends at. How fast do you think an MKV can really go.

I typically shift to 6th at about 80.

hmmm i've not gone over 125 - simpy cause us brits have windy roads, speed camera's and- i dont want lots of dead flies all over my nice shiney Fast ;D

4.546 liters per gallon
$ 1.93 x 4.546 = $ 8.77
I used the UK gallon to count it, cause the guy who posted the price for a gallon is from the UK.
If you use the US Gallon it would be:
$ 1.93 per liter
3.785 liter per gallon
$ 1.93 x 3.785 = $ 6.93
I don`t exactly how fast 5th ends at but it seems definitely over 125 which is the fasted I have on 5th gear.
With a hook up I got 100 oct. for about $3.50 US.

last nite once again i tried to top out my car in 5 i got to 135 mph and had a little left so i think you can get to 140mph in 5th and prob 160+ in 6th gear.
Head out to the salt flats or something and give that a shot.

i have the room to but its the cops and cars. At 10pm there shouldn't be many ppl on the road so when i gun it there is always that one person fwording me up. I pretty sure i can it her up to 150mph and take a pic but i'll need some time.

I don't know about the GTI, but most 6 speed cars top out in 5th gear. They say it runs 146mph stock, it didn't say what gear they ended up in.
