Cool video...it's funny 'cuz a fellow in a "maxed pimped-up-out honda" and I were kinda'/sorta' playing today and I accelerated past him in the 118mph range with plenty of snap still to give...after all...it is a honda.

Just to throw in my 2 cents, This was not a production GTI from what I am told. Same as with R&D and C&D when they did their initial reviews. The production models were tweaked compared to the preproduction models. I worked for honda for 5 and a half out of the last 10 years. And I agree,

At the end of the day....................
It's still just a Honda.

Man, Top Gear is one of the best shows in the world. In the 2004 awards, they gave the GTI MKV the best car of the year award. It was the European version obviously, but I'm sure the U.S. version holds the same standing, if not better.

Yea, it pretty much dominated every single overseas comparison. I wonder how much worse it would have run on the roadcourse with our US spec "tall" springs? I also like the vid where the three editors are riding around taking turns pounding around the course.
