So I posted this earlier in the "Introduce yourself thread" but was thinking that I wouldn't be getting any reaction. It's 1:35 am in WI right now and I have not been able to go to sleep.
I was going to my car after work and noticed a black mark in the middle of my front passenger door. Being the optimist I am, I was thinking to myself... "just a bug right?", I know this was wishful thinking... a bug?!?... and as I got closer, I notice the dreaded indentation glaring selfishly into my eyes. The dent isn't bad, but noticable. The scratch however seems to be quite severe. I am guessing the vehicle that hit my was a darker color of sorts and may have been a larger truck due to the position in which it left the mark. Gently rubbing my finger over this wound... I feel that the clearcoat is most likely damaged and may have slightly marred the paint. (I would post pictures but my only camera is attached to my phone and the resolution would make some members go blind)
I have owned this vehicle for a little less then a month and my beautiful GTI has damaged. No insurance information, no telephone number to call, nothing.
So my question is, Should I call the VW dealership for them to help repair this unsightly blemish? Or should I go gung-ho and push a glorified toilet plunger into the side of my car to try and yank the indentation out of it?
If choosing the VW dealership, I would highly doubt that is covered under any sort of warranty and may cost quite a bit (college student). But if I choose option B, I could leave a dent larger than the one my GTI is already suffering from (I have not heard a succesful story, but have not heard of a horrible blunder).
ANY USEFUL FEEDBACK WOULD BE NICE... I thank all of you who read this for taking your time and browsing through the traumatized rants of someone who has had lack of sleep and a broken heart.
