I got my GTI with the 17's. If the same style had come in 18, I might have considered them. I'm a much bigger fan of the spoke look. I had other reasons to do with needing all weather tires, but how about everyone else? Spokes stock in 18? Do you prefer the rounder style of the 18's as they come with the GTI?

I rode with 17 spokes for the first month I had my ride until the dealer could order the 18" hufs. I gotta say I totally love the new rims so much better than the spokes I had before. I get compliments all the time with these new rims and all my friends and family keep telling me how much better my car looks with them on. They make the car "pop" they say.

I think on red or white the Huffs look best but on black, grey or silver cars you need wheels a little less heavy looking and spokey.
agreed. i use to want to get some aftermarket 18" rims but the more i look at the 17" rims on my reflexive silver GTI the more i like them with the car... plus the cost of rims isnt very appealing either hah. anyone know any cheap sites to get some rims?

I'll probably get aftermarket 18s with a spokey design, like some of the ones I've seen posted here. That guy from Malaysia, or wherever, who posted his BM GTI here a while back had some real nice rims.

Love having 18" Hufs. I spend less time cleaning them than 17" spokes and more time driving. Not to mention it pulls the car together...in my opinion. Although some 19" BBS in dark gray would look sweet if I had the cake and the person to keep 'em clean.

Substitute 17's for 18's, and I'm doing the same, largely because of how good the pics of his BM were.

I have the stock 18" lamborghini diablo-esque rims, and they're badass.

A fellow GTI driver I met had what looked liked the 16" rims with all the spokes, and he said he saw mine and thought they were cooler, which was awesome.

Question 1: Does anyone know if the 17" spokes on the MK-V can be extended? there is always an issue with clearence on the back side of the rims!

Question 2: If possible with these rims what is the max 5mm, 10mm, 15mm or 20mm with stock suspension? I want a wider look but dont want to eat my fenders up and dont want to change the suspension.

Newbie question: When you're talking millimeters, you mean what? Is that lip depth? Thanks
