Like I have posted in other topics, I have never owned a compact car, nor have I ever owned anything other than a GM vehicle until now. My normal car magazine of choice is Car and Driver (which the GTI made into the top ten best car list for 2006). My wife was at the store the other day and saw Sport Compact's Feb. 2007 issue with a special on tuner 2006 GTI's. I am not much for souping up a daily driver car, but after reading this issue, I was astounded by the potential these cars have. Some were putting out upwards of 380 wheel hp and making it to 60mph in under 4.5 secs. If any of you want to drool, I would suggest reading this article. They don't give a whole lot of tech info about what was done to the cars, but they give some pretty good objective as well as subjective results. Has anyone else read this article?

i am thinking of gettin an APR chip for my car but i dunno if that kills the warranty or not

just get the damn chip. there is so much talk about warranty and lemme tell ya. i take the car to the dealership with a Cold Air Intake, Eurojet EA pipe, and GIAC stickers on the doors and they dont say anything about it.

Yeah, if anything does void your warranty, stickers on the doors advertising performance parts probably will.

haha yeah... thats pretty much a dead giveaway. but seriously i was never questioned on anything. my service advisor actually liked what was done to the car.
