NOW THAT MY GTI IS ALMOST 4 MONTHS OLD, I CAN STILL NOT FIND ANY MUD OR SPLASH GUARDS FOR THIS CAR. THE RABBIT IS NOW OUT AND IT HAS THE SAME BODY STYLE, YOU WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD BE OUT BY NOW. I HAVE CALLED EVERYONE AT VW, ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT IT'S ON BACK ORDER. HAS ANYONE HEARD DIFFERENT OR KNOWS WERE TO GET THEM.

THANKS!!!!!

Those look like the generic rubber ones you can buy anywhere that just mold to the contours but never really fit right. I put one on my old Jetta before selling it. It looked like crap, but I don't think the buyers noticed.

I too am still waiting for mudguards. I better get em before winter. When I bought my car it was included in the price but I'm still waiting.

You're probably way better off to go with some equivalent of http://www.stongard.com/

I don't see GTI '06 in there, but you get the idea. I know of detail shops that offer something to this effect, as well as many dealers. My friend has it, and it's noticable, but barely. It'll look a hell of a lot better than a poorly fitting mudflap that was meant for a '72 el camino with a playboy bunny on it...

ROFL!

Interestingly, we kind of have a tailgate, it's just attached at the top...

P.S. I tried to find a good pic. Kudos on that particular one.

I JUST RECEOVED MY SPLASH GUARDS FROM THE DEALER YESTERDAY. THEY DID INSTALL THEM FOR ME. AS I STATED BEFORE IT TOOK ALMOST 4 MONTHS.

THEY REALLY LOOK GREAT, THEY ARE MADE OF SOLID RUBBER AND NOT THAT SORT OF PLASTIC STUFF. THEY FIT EXACTLY TO THE WHEEL FENDER AND THEY ARE BLACK OF COURSE. THEY DO LOOK GREAT AND YOU CAN HARDLY NOTICE THEM.

THEY DID STATE AGAIN THE THE SPRING / SUMMER DRIVEGEAR PARTS BOOK HAD ALL THE WRONG PART NUMBERS FOR THE NEW GTI, THE NUMBERS THAT WERE IN THE BOOK ARE FOR THE OLD BDY STYLE.

IF YOU DO ORDER THEM THEY DO COME FROM GERMANY, AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME.

WITH OR WITHOUT THE FLAPS THIS CAR IS JUST FANTANSTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the part number for the rears? I got part #1K75105 which do not fit correctly on my "09" GTI. If I bubba them on the bottom edge is at an angle ( not parallel with the road) and are not completely behind the tire.
