Si salesman mad!

Pulled up beside a Honda salesman with a customer on a test drive yesterday. I guess the salesman thought his Si was faster than the GTI. He had the customer rev'in the engine and was waving at us like they were going to leave me sitting there. It reminded of the idiot in the hopped up civic in the new gti test drive with the female german engineer. From redlight to redlight I smoked the Si all three times. The salesman was so mad he put his hand out the window and shot me the bird. ;D ;D ;D

Yesterday, i turned off traction control for the first time... 1st gear was insane, driving at 5mph then flooring it and the wheels just light up... shifting from 1st to 2nd was a wheel spinning extravaganza. Then of couse, i turned the traction control back on because tires aren't cheap and i don't need to be abusing my poor fast like that ;)
;D :D ;D

I've spun the wheels in third with the ESP off. :)
I love that chirp I get when I hit third hard. Pure torque.
I love my new GTI, which I got to replace my 2007 Si due to tranny trouble that Honda wouldn'tr admit to...But I have to tell you, the Si is faster in some conditions and handles a little better. The LSD in the Si made a big difference. It had plenty of power for the way the car was set up. And I hate to admit it because I'm really pissed at Honda and will never buy another one.

Now, the GTI may be a better car all around-not sure. We have definitely have more torque to go faster in a straight line. But GTI is heavier, too.

Just my two cents, as someone who's had both.
the si really is a piece of sh%t. It has nothing to offer.

Hahaha oh yeah needs a whole new hood and alot of other body work as well, plus a new radiator, the fins just kind of collapsed on the stocker. And TTB A flying ARmbar will be a challenge after I lock in the rolling knee bar

I have cro cop power in the legs sir, Fedor power in the hands :)
come meet me
Look dudes- I like the GTI better, too. I got rid of the Si and got a GTI. But the fact is, the GTI does not blow the SI out of the water. The GTI may have certain things that we like better- much more torque, DSG option and other things.

But-

"..where the Si crushed the VW GTI by 1.56 seconds around the 1.58-mile course."

All I'm saying is, it's a very good car, too. It's a shame about it's 3rd gear problem that pissed off so many owners like me and that's why I'm much happier with my GTI.
