Ummm...so I have to admit I had an '03 civic si...bright flippin' blue. It was comically named the 'Little Blue Clown Mobile' by my fiance. Yeah, so I got tired of carryin' clowns around and moved up to an '07 TR GTI ^-^ ...my only regret is that I sank too much money into the little booger...had an Injen Cold-air and Apexi exhaust on it. It ran pretty hard for a little rollerskate...but I know the GTI would even blink as it roasted a little ride like that! 8) Needless to say, I'm a PROUD VW owner.....hoowaah! !

I just love keeping "pace" with them, when they are thinking they are neck and neck- then just pull a car length or two away to prove my point. > If the Si had some torque and a DSG, I think it would make a killer daily driver.

One of my Friends wants to buy an Si and i already told him there ok, but if you want a real car you need a Gti, so when goes to test drive it he wants me to take him, hes going to tell the sales guys if he can out run my Gti he will buy it on the spot Cash. its set up for Friday...what are my real chances?

i've got it in the bag. especially because if hes w/ a salesman, the salesman isnt probably gonna let u go more than 70 or 80. The SI doesnt have enough torque and its power comes from high revs and that takes too much time.

I think u should b straight. Plus hes gonna b carryin an extra person. thats 200+lb more weight

Just remember the Si has a limited slip Differential, so it might be able to get a jump on you at the start.

It shouldn't. Definitely haven't seen that from those I've gone up against. The Si has basically no torque at all, and what little it does have comes way too late. You should destroy it, especially with your DSG and launch control.

welll thanks guys, even if i lose, which by the way you guys talk i wont, i wont lose a thing. i think your right im shure we wont go past 70mp. but i know the sales guy will say yes, anything to make a sale,thers a small road behind the dealership just to test out the car.i wounder if the sales guy already knows hell lose and will say No....huh well what ever happens i let u guys know...

you can't even use all the torque you have in first gear... you don't need a ton a torque during launch, a limited slip diff will help get more power to the ground efficiently, a car with as much torque as ours should definitely have a limited slip... i think it's the only downside about my GTI, but damn i love my GTI.

Yesterday, i turned off traction control for the first time... 1st gear was insane, driving at 5mph then flooring it and the wheels just light up... shifting from 1st to 2nd was a wheel spinning extravaganza. Then of couse, i turned the traction control back on because tires aren't cheap and i don't need to be abusing my poor fast like that
