Pulled up beside a Honda salesman with a customer on a test drive yesterday. I guess the salesman thought his Si was faster than the GTI. He had the customer rev'in the engine and was waving at us like they were going to leave me sitting there. It reminded of the idiot in the hopped up civic in the new gti test drive with the female german engineer. From redlight to redlight I smoked the Si all three times. The salesman was so mad he put his hand out the window and shot me the bird. ;D ;D ;D

Thats Funny! Both cars have my attention and I can't wait to see them at the 2006 AutoShow! I don't know if I would encourage racing if I was trying to sell a car though.

awesome - the salesman deserves to lose the sale if he's going to line it up to a car with this much torque. The si is a nice car, but it's nothing like a GTi. Anyone have a link to that Car and Driver article where the GTi smoked it?

That is definately humorous!! I haven't even seen an Si in person yet, but a Honda is after all, a Honda. Probably good cars for kids, but Japanese vehicles don't do anything for me. Maybe they just remind me that their factories also spit out lawnmowers and TV's.

Friend of mine who drives a RSX-S now, was going through many other options. He was checking out the SRT-4, and the salespeople were INSANE. Told him to hammer the car @[email protected] He said he was going over 90 on the test drive. Another one also demonstrated donuts with it or something. That is.. pretty messed up to be the one buying that car, if you ask me. But hey, thats a good way to convince someone

And btw. This owner of the 06' RSX-S. Found out I have a GTI now, and said "Damn.. I wish those were out when I was shopping."

Nothing like making an assclown out of a honda salesman. From what ive heard, the si is only good above 6000rpm. Im not into burning that much fuel for performance.

I would never want to test drive an Si or even get into a civic. The S2000 look pretty nice i would have to say.

The Honda Si is a nice car. It's my second reasonable choice after the GTI. I love high revving motors! It's fun downshifting to row the gear box.

Plus, it has an LSD. Sad that the GTI doesn't have one.
