K Gents,
I need a tip / trick.. I managed to kiss a raised piece of concrete with my front valance while parking on campus... its not the ground effects kit you can get with the GTI.. just the grey urethane that comes stock Its scratched up pretty good, but its no more than a hair deep.. anyone restored this with sandpaper, etc? Advice?

Thanks in advance

That's rough, man.

The textured surface of that piece is going to make it hard to remove the scratch without it looking like you tried to remove a scratch.

Your best bet is to probably just leave it, but if you want it gone that bad, talk to your dealer about orderinga new one. You're probably looking at $150 - $200, though.

If it makes you feel any better I found a small door ding right behind the driver's door on mine the other day. I'm still pretty pissed about it.

That sucks! I know this suggestion is proboly too late, but always try to back up into parking spaces. All parking spaces are different in the reguards that those concrete baracades all ways different heights. My favoritve is when the piece of rebar hangs out 6 inches above the top of the barricade. Prevention is ALWAYS cheaper than the cost of a repair. Just a thought.

I can't count the number of times I've pulled into a parking space, get out and look at my park job and I'm shocked at either seeing the front bumper just millimeters above the concrete (be it slab or curb) or just millimeters away from concrete that is too high. I've really lucked out a lot on this.
