Last night, I went to my Fast after parking it at a public parking lot for about 1 hour. As usual, I hit the unlock button on the remote and got in the car. However, this time, I noticed that the little red LED on the side of the door did not go away. It stayed on (not even blinking, it was constantly on) even after I shut off and re-started the car. I thought this was my first encounter with German reliability (the car has just over 600 miles).

then i went some where else, stopped the car, parked it, locked it. Came back after a while, unlocked it and the little LED went off as expected.

What happened? Was it its way of telling me some (*)hole molested my Fast at the last parking lot?

Anyone has any weird encounter with the alarm system?

I haven't had that problem. A couple of questions: 1. did you have your headlights on? 2. do you have autolocking doors disabled? Maybe the autolock system didn't detect that the door was shut and thus didn't lock the door, hence leaving the red light on.

These are good guesses. I've only had the car for a week so I did not know (still don't) what and how to change the autolock function. And no, I shut the headlights off when I left the car.

Haven't seen the problem since though!!!

my little red alarm light fell down the door panel :'(
That's pretty poor workmanship. Don't you think?

But it means that you could change out those shitty spkrs when you get the LED glued back to its little hole ;D

If this car wasn't so fun to drive, I'd think I'd made a BIG mistake.

Hey guys...it's been quite some time since this was posted. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this issue as described above? I've got 3,000km on my ride and this issue has occured twice, exactly as its been described. It's not really that a big of a deal, just slightly annoying. Most likely I'll have the dealer look at it but it would be sweet to hear feedback from anyone else who has encountered this problem and had it looked into further. Cheers guys,

I've got almost 7k miles and this has happened at least three times. It concerned me a bit the first time and I tried everything I could think of to get it to go away. That episode ended up pretty much the same as described above by niko597. Since then, when it happens I tend to do a quick walkaround to check on my baby, then go about my day as usual. I've never really though much about it and simply assumed it meant that something set a warning or alarm while I was away; someone got too close or too loud. I'm used to having my cars on or near military airfields so this isn't unusual.

I've got about 9000 miles on myfast and it has happened to me a few times. Just as described above. The most recent time, today, I went into a CVS and was only in for about 5-7 minutes, I was in the first parking space outside the door and didn't hear any car alarms going off so I know nobody molested it. Although as I was leaving this fat girl with two of her friends mouthed from her car.."I like your car." :D

Thank god the car is so fast...couldn't get out of there fast enough! [fish]
