Reckless Endangerment

Damn, you got lucky...I never would have gone up against a cop, they are pretty severe in my area.

I have a similar story, almost 3 years ago I got pulled over by a cop after having "raced" (I passed him in a couple seconds and then just continued without accelerating) a friend.

The cop had been following us for several blocks, watching us speed up and after taking a right onto a back-road, he turned his lights. Scariest night of my life...lol
The guy was cool though apparently I was doing 71 on a 30, which should have been reckless endangerment, but he said he would let me off with 69MPH instead and would only make me pay a fine as long as I drove straight home. (he followed me till I parked my car in my garage and then left)

I ended up paying $380 (instead of the $570 for 71MPH) and getting 7 points off my license.

Since then I have never raced and have matured!

my fast has gotten me in trouble numerous times. After gettin two tickets in 3 weeks, one of them should of been wreckless 79 in a 55 i thought i would of learnt my lesson. But i constantly catch myself not speeding for extended periods of time, but jus flooring it then noticing im doin 100. For the next 5mins i spend most of it watchin my rearview mirror.

praying that my lack of selfcontrol hasnt gotten me nailed.

I do speed on the highway, not going overly fast, maybe 85-90 in a 65 zone but thats just because I got a radar detector...doesn't work well in the city but on the highway it gives a clear warning well in advance coverage front and back

Same here Matta....the radar detector gives all kinds of false signals in the city (and most of the time there is too much traffic anyway).

But once on the open road...PEDAL TO THE MEDAL!!!!

I Had One That Went Off Every Time I Was By A Store. Later To Find Out That The Detector Would Pick Up Eather The Scanner Thing For The Barcodes Or The Detectors By The Door. You Know The Security Divice Things.

Got That After I Got 2 Tickets In 2 Days For Doing 80 In A 30. Got Lucky Though The Cops Know My Dad And Gave Me Tickets For 45 In A 30. On Both Of Them. That Was In My 83 Chevy El Camino

Yea the cop also called my parents and told then I was going over 100mph!!! I was unaware that going 50over got a call home

Dam you got real lucky where i live i would have gone to jail that night just for getting smart with a cop last time i did i got slammed to the back of my car (which i had just waxed ha) and put in cuffs and thrown on the ground i really hate cops they have no morals in my book all they care about this their quotas

And i got a real story of harassments to my friends got pulled over in front of their house like as soon as they turned the car just for having 30% tints which is illegal in MD

Justin- call it even. Even know the cop may have called your folks, you didn't get arrested (and in FL they can seize your car for **** like that) and you didn't get a ticket.

If you were out here in CA, you'd expect to at least loose your license for a year and have your insurance go through the friggin' roof.

Just remember- as much of a jerk the cop was- he gave you one hell of a break. Don't expect the same next time. Go buy a lottery ticket.

Be polite, don't admit to anything and be polite. Did I mention to be polite?

Just gotta be careful with that stuff. We have speeding laws for a reason after all. Everyone thinks it'll never happen to them, but believe it when it does, and you're crippled or dead....just to go a little faster than the speed limit, showing off, etc, etc. Just be weary of what the consequences can be.

When he pulled me over he asked how long i had the car. I told him about 3 weeks, then he asked me if it was fun . He asked if I knew why he stopped me, I told him I had an idea. Then he told me to slow down and let me off. Nicest cop I have ever met. LOL
