Just got my 2007 GTI about an hour ago. White 6spd and lovn it soo much. What kind of mods do u guys recommend? any help would be great. thanks for ur help.

I would love to chip my car, but I think the first thing I'm going to do is put in an intake. I can install it myself and I can remove it so the dealer won't try to void my warranty. The chip makes me nervous about that fact.

With regard to the Passat (anyway),APR claims there chip is undetectable to dealers scanning.
Of course if a service tech test drives the veh, he'll know the car IS NOT stock! ;)
The kit with the controls on the cruz,allow the driver to control settings/on-off on his car.You can also purchase just the basic chip install-no controls(I forget what they call the kit...Stg or Phase 1?)Also diff in 91 v 93 octane hp/torq figures too.I can feel it in my stk Passat.93 pulls just a l-i-t-t-l-e crisper/stronger.(no bs)
See www.goapr.com (I think). It's about a 500 buck mod(installed)on my Passat.-which I never did-money thing) But all the Passat forum junkies claim APR is absolutely one of the best chippers, and THE best mod for money! ;D

dude, im in the same position. just picked mine up about 3 weeks ago (got a corporate 06 for cheap) and now im looking at what to do? as much as i like power, sounding good is nice too. here's some pricing/options from namosports

Hey i live in cali and there is no 93 octane fuel here, so can i still get the chip? do i need to use an octane booster from autozone or something if i get the chip?

you could i guess .. im from toronto and we only have 91 and 94 here.. so can i use 94 if i get the 93 octane APR chip?? i think im just gna stik with the 91 octane level since its available to me here.. dno about the octane booster though.. would be kinda shitty to keep boosting the octane everytime u filled up hehe

thank you , yea i guess it would suck to have to buy booster every time

you only need that octane to get the full benefit of the power gain..if you dont use that octane you'll notice a slight decrease in performance...as for voiding the warranty i believe all of the manufacturers of chips sell for pretty cheap a box or switch you can just switch back to normal mode and tje dealer will never know some have a valet mode which decreases performance to like nothing over 20 and some have lock out precedures and one make is controlled via the cruse control lever...kinda gay to me lol

from what i have previously read for those who cant get 93, there is a chipping map thats designed for 91 octane
