I just got a delivery from Germany. (you gotta love those packages) I ordered from TM tuning a set of open air side vent panels. (the plastic panel around the fog lights) Can anyone tell me why one of them has a scoop to redirect air, and the other one has a panel which blocks all air from going through. Both the scoop and the panel are removable. The scoop is on the drivers side. I once read that they will help cool the brakes, but why only the drivers side. Good thinking Dragon. That is exactly what my dad said. I logged on to suggest that but it looks like you beat me to it. Now I guess I need a CAI so they are actually functional. I am goint to get the neuspeed intake but I wasn't going to get the cold air extension in fear of sucking water into the engine. (not to mention the added cost)

I'm not sure if anybody is seeing this, but the CA extension for the P-Flo allows you to cap off the extension in wet weather.

"In case of wet weather conditions, you can use our supplied caps to cap the extension kit and relocate the filter to it original P-Flo location."

I'm not sure if I'll go w/ a CAI (as opposed to just the P-Flo), but that's a pretty sweet feature IMO.

06 GTI's that were sold in hot climates came with a DSG cooler. The scoop on the driver side is there to direct air to this cooler. VW has since concluded that this cooler is not needed and therefore it is not equipped anymore. Take the scoop off. That's what I did.

I have the same fog vents but i got them thru http://oempl.us ..anyways i also have an abd cai and i have the little tunnel on the vent on the driver side ...it sends direct airflow to the cai so thats pretty kewl....

I too got mine from oempl.us and took off the restricter on the passenger side, but left the scoop on the driver side. Now that I think of it I might just take off the scoop next spring, it will look better and match the other side.

PS....EASIEST INSTALL I HAVE EVER DONE!!!!!!!
