So twice now I've had my footwell lights come on bright and blink when I'm driving at night. I thought it was some sort of warning but... apparently not. Most of the threads I find discussing this issue are in regards to modified footwell lights, or cars with aftermarket LED interior lights. But mine is completely stock.
It's not a big malfunction but you should try having it happen when you're merging at 70mph at night. It's very distracting, at least the first time. I'm glad it hasn't happened to my wife who is more easily freaked out.
Unless this is somehow a "feature" (?!) (e.g. I checked the speed warning settings in the MFD in case it was associated since I was accelerating past 70 at the time, but it was deactivated), I'll have to mention it to the dealer soon.
