if you ever do decide to sale the car and have modded it the resale value will be shot to heck, take a look at Ebaymotors or any other car site all the cars that are crazily modded (civics) will sell for quite a bit less I saw a civic that wanted 50k...well lets just say it's been for sale for a long time, people tend to not to buy modded cars b/c everyone has different tastes and they hate any engine mods, b/c that can wreck the reliability. So if you plan to resale and want to get some decent money back keep it to a minimum you always see the stock cars sell for almost full value. If you plan to keep the car till its a junker like I'll be doing lol then mod the heck out of it and engine all of the possibilities!

It's true that it'll drop the value of the car if you mod it.

The Fahrenheit will definitely be a collectors car within the next 10 years. Hold on to it for a while, sell it several years down the road, and reap the benefits of not doing any mods.

If I wanted to buy a car I know would last, I would NOT buy a modded car.

Mods are almost always a sign of heavy/aggressive driving. People who granny their car and treat it the best they can aren't adding all those extra performance parts.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but I think it generally is true. All my friends who have modified their car in some way are not feather footed.

So seeing a modified car that is suppost to be a limited production vehicle, you know it is going to be one of the first ones to die as its being pushed harder then its unmodded brothers/sisters. As such it would likely lower the perceived value even though it has had more money put into it.

However, that isn't always true and now and again you will find someone who wanted to do all that work and as such it can save them time and money..

It's YOUR car- do what you want with it.

But whatever $$$ you put into mods- don't expect to get it back when you sell- and worse it *could* devalue the car.

There's a dude with a civic that, well it's cherry- has lots of mods, killer sound system and he thinks he can get every penny outta the thing- well, he's had it for sale for two years.... :(

I just got the Fahrenheit as well, and I ordered my first and probably only mod.. A clear bra kit. That is one mod that won't hurt the value, it will probably help it. If I do anything else it will probably be a drop in K&N Filter, not a whole intake. Maybe I'll add the OEM VW Ipod adapter... That's pretty much all I plan to do. If I wanted a car to mod I would have bought a Civic.
