i just bought an 06 silver gti with 6 speed and package 2. (traded in an 04 mazda rx8) i absolutely love the gti. one stupid question i have is
i read online that if you buy the new gti you will get a fast doll, is this true

when we bought are GTI a month ago we were told in the mail 6-8 weeks. So we still have a couple of weeks before it should show up, will keep everyone informed. If not i will be pissed and the dealer will hear about it.

hey everyone -

The General Manager at the dealership that I bought my GTI from assured me that I would be receiving one in the mail in something he called a "GTI owners gift package". He was cool enough to give me 2 t-shirts though. One was the "GTI fast" t-shirt with "fast is my copilot" written on the back with a picture of the "fast figure" on the front. Its a pretty sick shirt. Just thought that I would let you guys know and/or give you guys some sort of hope. LOL.

The dealer I bought mine from said that VW didnt even make the "fast doll" but much to my surprise I got mine in the mail about 2 weeks after I bought it

I got my GTI in the middle of Feb. and I got my fast a few weeks ago, so I dont think a definite time is set for when you will recieve your fast, it will just show up, and when it does, have someone photograph your face... its priceless... especially when your mom comes in and throws it on your bed asking if its yours and telling you she almost threw it out..... Much to learn she has....

The way I'm getting boned by my dealer. I'm definately not holding my breath on a doll. I negotiated a set of 18" rims for my car at purchase and it's been almost a month and still no rims. No word at all for 3 weeks, no idea what the status is, now suddenly they've "been on order the whole time" and nobody knew anything about it. So they're going to be here in 2 days, I'll believe it when I see it. God I hate other people.

I would think you are eligible for a fast. But don't quote me cause I'm not giving mine up whenever it shows up.

Oh I got it in writing alright. The original bill of sale calls out 18" rims - free. I also had another piece of paper that was like an "we owe you this" form for the rims. But the last time I went down there to complain I didn't notice that it "accidently" got left behind at the dealership until the next day. I'm just wondering what other sneaky things they're going to try and get me with. I can just see them trying to charge me for the tires, or not including the bump stops that are required for 18" rims. Guess I'll see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated.
Of couse I'm pretty paranoid when it comes to car dealerships. Who hasn't been burned at one?

Yes, mine's leased and my Fast came about 2 months after I got the MK V.
