Hello guys, just joined. I traded in my 2001 Ford Lightning for a VW GTI. I will say I don't miss my 380HP V8 supercharged lightning at all. ;D The GTI is much more fun to drive even if it is slower. I got the DSG tranny, the 18'' wheels, sunroof, sirius, no leather though. I'm looking into some mods, intercooler, CAI, exhaust, and hopefully eventually turbo upgrade.

why are rims so damn expensive?? like a decent pair of 18 inch rims with tires is around 1300 easily. that is pretty insane. why is this?!?!?!. i also see this ghetto ass broken down rides with caved in doors riding on like blindingly shiny 198745 inch rims... whats up with this?? haha. they must be made of tin foil or something.

Nice car congrats, but personally, I dont know why everyone loves those 18's, there are some deep dish 18's that I like, but I saw them after I got the 17's, but as far as the 18's here, they look like they weigh 18,000lbs. I guess everyones different...and yes, the 17's are a bitch to clean...

All depends on the color of the car. I think the Huffs look brilliant on red or white. With black, grey or silver I'd rather have something lighter looking like the 17s or larger versions of the 17s.

I went with 17's because my dad just dropped 1400 bucks on two new rear tires and a new rim on his 330ci. 18" summer tires need to be replaced ever 10.000 miles at the most and i dont have that kinda cash. his were worn through to the steel belts and one of his rims was bent. total bummer. that aint chump change.
