i was researching getting my chip flashed and i found a GIAC retailer in CT but it was about 2.5hours away. i decided to bite the bullet, make an appointment, and drive to the retail shop. i couldnt wait to feel the improvement the chip would have on my car. i finally get there and the dealer reminds me that the program is $300 and labor is $87. i give him my keys and go to the waiting room. about 15 minutes later the dealer asks me i ive ever had my chip flashed before and i tell him that i bought the car about 8 months earlier and that i have never had the chip flashed. he leaves me in the waiting room only to come back 5 minutes later to tell me that my car has already been flashed:eek:.

Ok maybe I misrepresented that statement. GIAC on MK4 blows, MK5 i can't tell. I've ridden in MK4's with GIAC, REVO, APR, UNI (mine). APR is a lame duck, REVO is terrible and doesnt idle nicely (for my taste), GIAC is nice BUT has no upgradability, UNI is just a little less aggressive than GIAC but I can go and upgrade my file for tried and true BT.

Whoa whoa..... what you got against APR????

I love mine. When I drove it after having it chipped it was like driving a whole new car. Performs great. Course I have nothing to base that on.


Tell ya what. Send me a check for $600 and I'll test UNI. Then I'll give you my opinion. :D
