so... what do you think the results would be? GTI MKV vs. Integra Type-R?

i think they are pretty comparable to the gti relatively speaking

195 hp @ 8000 rpm
130 lbs-ft @ 7500

I don't know where you get your facts...

2001 Integra Type-R:
HP = 195 @ 8k rpm
Tq = 130 @ 7500 RPM
0-60 = 6.53
1/4 mile = 15.24 @ 93.74

Honda's engines are an engineering marvel (power figures on the S200 are pretty crazy for an NA 4-banger), but the fact is, you don't even start to get any pull until you hit 5,400 RPM, and then upwards of 7k. There is no low end torque, and it is not faster than GTI stock vs. stock.

Those 1/4 mile numbers are incorrect... well, maybe correct with my Grandma driving it... here are more accurate numbers:

0 - 60 mph 6.2 seconds
0 - 1/4 mile 14.9 seconds

Type R also has a nice LSD standard, so pretty solid on launches.

I've owned two regular Acura Integras, both great cars. I find the driving position of the GTI better and for me, I get more road feel with the GTI.
I've never swapped ends while driving any of my VWs, though I did it several times on each of the Integras. May just be my driving style, or lack thereof
