Ok i had a conversation with someone about these 2 cars but im not really sure if they were right or if i was. I dont know anything about racing or track racing what ever you want to call it. But they were saying that the GTO would beat the MKV on a track with hairpin turns and other turns like that. I believe its called rally, not really sure you an correct me but i dont feel that they were right i think the MKV would house the GTO on a track like that. It doesnt seem that the GTO is made for that. Its more of a straight run car, no?

Well if anyone knows let me know thanks in advanced. ;D ;D ;D

Oh yes - the new GTO's... what a good car. They are put together very nicely and come with amazing power. Mod your GTI by opening it up and letting it breath and maybe an aftermarket turbo and then you'll have a nice race.

the gto is a nice car, but shouldnt be called a gto, rather a holden.

i wish gm would stop screwing around and give us a real old school gto and also make holden a company over here [if you guys dont know about holden, its a company in australia owned by gm. hella sick cars.]

About two nights ago im just driving around with my fast on rt80 and some kid slows down next to me in a black gto dont know what year it had hood scoops. All he does is gives his car a tap to get me to race. So within 5 sec hear him down shif so i do the same and put it into 3rd and take off from 3rd to 3/4 of 4th i have him then i put it into 5th and he takes off after that i had no chance. But i took him with 3rd and most of 4th gear these gti are very quick. Cant wait for my fmic to be put on and my chip

I am very surprised at this story. It's from blackgti06, so I believe it, but that fool in the GTO can't drive.

doesnt the GTO have 400+ hp?
my boyfriend has an '06 GTO with an intake and exhaust with about 405-410 HP. I haven't bought my GTI yet, but I've driven his car and the GTI and I'm sure on the street the GTO would kick @$$ (unfortunatly) However, on turns and probably going through Mulhulland (if you live in L.A. you know what im talkin about) I'm sure the GTI would be a winner. I'll let everyone know who wins in the GTI vs. GTO race once I get my car ;D and also, I wonder what it would be like to race a Z06 Corvette (hahaha) I'll let you know about that one too since his dad owns one.

with track racing, i think the GTI is still lighter after taking out all of the seats and whatnot along with the GTO. However, it's surprising to see that at a drifting competition I attended a year or so ago, the GTO was the only American car out there drifting at Irwindale Speedway...you'd be surprised to know that it was coming in like 2nd place against all those Jap import cars.

If you allow the GTO to accelerate in a straightaway it will kick your ass. but if it is a tight course the GTi defenitly has a chance because the heavy 6 liter V8 is not so nimble. In a quarter mile drag, the GTO would dominate. Twice the cylinders, twice the pow-pow-power.

well no doubt it'll kick ass on a straightaway! that car does 0-60 in the 5 second range whereas the GTI is in the 6's. that GTO just rumbles, hahaha, but just wait until we race on Mullhulland ;) it'll be no contest. the GTO has such a long ass behind it, it wont be able to keep up with the GTI's little booty..hahah
