mini cooper s is seriously a fun car to drive.. i test drove it and wow it was fun! but for 500+ a month it is so not worth it vs. a GTI.. the GTI is much more practical price wise and also interior wise... the GTI wins with its interior alone.. i was obsessed with the mini's for a long time (untill driving the GTI right after) but then i started to realize its more of a gimmick than anything else.. GTI <3 <3 <3

Don't get me wrong, but in stock form with both cars (GTI vs Mini S)... handling wise the Mini will give our cars a run for the money. If I was buying a car for trackdays: I would really consider the Cooper (I hate the FRIGGINN' TACH placement! :-X). But for a car that is a daily driver- the GTI hands down. >:D

Had read all this info about the C30 and the company I work for allows up to buy any Ford product on the X plan. E-mailed the dealer exactly what I wanted, made an appointment, and showed up with checkbook. What dcks. If volvo wants to appeal to a new group of buyers they need to leave their snottish attitude behind. The dealer wasn't interested in selling the car, it was a special order-easy sale. Couldn't stand it. Drove couple miles down to take another look at Farenheit.Bought it.
Now if a Mini dealer were in Maine...the Mini is great but I got a lot more bang for the buck with the GTI.

okay, i'm ending it, in the war between the mini and the GTI the mini doesn't stand a chance in hell, now the mini cooper S with the JCW (john cooper works package) does. Actually, track wise it bests the gti legitimately, now, the cooper may be superior on the the track (only with goodies) but it blows as a daily driver, and nearly everyone detests the interior ergornomics, feel, comfortability, and overall design. Its too, "forced wanna be cutsie badass" if that makes any sense. Now, one must not forget, for the mini to dance with the gti an $8,000.00 price is necessary!!! **** THAT, its nor worth it, for an extra 8 grand yes you will get a car that can top the gti marginally, but everything else pales in comparison by such great depth, not to mention if you spend a fraction of that 8 grand on performance parts for gti you can bend the mini over. I like the mini, i really do, but its number two to the gti. If you don't agree with me, cool, idc, go read the article in C&D, they put it much better, if you still go with a mini, enjoy it, still dc
