Has anyone installed a Line Output Converter (LOC) onto the stock stereo?

Wondering if anyone has any advice before I start ripping my car apart to wire this SVEN2 up. Sucks the stock stereo has no RCA's out, but this should fix that :)

i would love to upgrade the sound system on the GTI a bit but i will feel bad if its too much money. i rather get a new exhaust system or intercooler then a sound system. how much on average would it be to tweak the sound system up a bit?

How are you getting an RCA signal to the subs? LOC or new headunit? I am very interested in the idea of a line output converter.... and yes pics will be most welcome

I hooked up a line out put converter in my 06 GTI. I tapped it into the rear speakers and then ran the rca cables under the door floor trim to the back. It has worked fantasticly for me so far. I am running 2 10inch fosgate punchs and it sounds unbelivable. And the hook up wasnt to difficult.

Sweet. Where'd you get the LOC? And any tips for the install? I have a 10inch Audiobahn w/ amp collecting dust in my closet.. your post is just what I needed to hear. Did you run power back there? Or use the 12v already back there? Details details

I got the loc from best buy it was like 20 bucks. It came with directions and i just hooked it to the rear speaker wires. I ran the power cable from the battery to the amp threw an air vent behind the glove box. If you have an automatic you can run it threw a grommit where the clutch would be. The remote turn on i hooked up to fuse #4 (5 amp) on the interior fuse box with a fuse tap i got at auto zone. If you need any more help with the hook up my email is in my profile.

Ya I taped into the behind the stock head unit there is a wire layout on the head unit that will tell you what each wire is for
How did you feed the RCAs through the back of the dash to get them to the rear? And how much room is behind the head unit? It would seem kind of a tight fit leaving the convertor back there.

Behind the dash there isnt alot of room but it is enought for the converter. i ran the rca cables down to the passenger footwell. If you have a person to help you it is not as hard. one person puts there hand under the trim in the passenger foor well. the other should be able to see your hand from ubove by the head unit they can feed the cables to you and then you pull them trough. then just run them behind the footwell carpet and under the door seal to the back. hope this will help. I would post pics but I cant seem to get them to work.
