Just curious but I hear a few people dogging the electronic system (ie Edmunds.com) the GTI has versus the true limited slip in some of the competition. Is this truly a bad thing for the everyday driver who doesn't autocross? I just want to get a feel for what the issue really is. Thanks.

I think that if you're just an everyday driver, the electronic system is better. The limited slip differential is designed for racing; giving you different amounts of slip in the wheels depending on whether you are accelerating, braking, or doing hard corners. It is designed to help you get the maximum amount of grip possible under racing conditions. I would say that you are fine with the electronic system, unless you are going to become an autocross/track/rally racer. Hope this helps! :)
