Would you want the license frame on the front bumper?

Are there any dealers that are making you get this?
FYI, this is easily switched with a new one that just came in that doesn't have one.

What is this new one that just came in? Is it a licenses bracket for the front that does not rrequire holes in the bumper cover? If so, where can I buy see or buy such an item? I really do not want holes in my bumper cover, but it is required to display a front plate here.

Some Dealers like Herzog-Meier in Beaverton, OR. are not drilling the bumper. I brought this to the attention of Mr. Meier after the first ones hit their lot and he agreed that it should be left up to the customer to decide, not forced upon the customer. The part they drill comes off and can be swapped out with a new GTI that just came in. Ask your dealer, depending on the dealer, they may be willing to help you.

Mine wasn't drilled, I thought maybe VW had come up with a better so;ution. I'll probably just zip tie the bracket onto the lower grill.

The plate bracket was already attatched when I bought mine. Both the state I live in and the state the car came from require two plates.

Though I am trying to come up with ideas for vanity plates...

My province doesn't require front plates but I wouldn't mind a European style fake vanity plate. Know if anyone makes them? I want mine to say "MEIN FAST"

Only Nj will make you put license plates on the front and back i pefer just the back but i cant do that. I want to put a MKV license plate in the front of my car but the only thing i've done is MKV "Make friends with your fast" license plate frames on front and back its pretty cool looking.

I made sure my front plate wasn't installed even though it is required in my state. They were happy to leave it in the trunk. But then again I told them if it wasn't in the trunk I wasn't interested.

They had already drilled mine when I bought it. I still removed the plate holder and curenttly have no plate on the front (Washington state requires 2 plates) but no one seems to care ill just wait untill they make me put it on.
I was in Beverton and Tigard Oregon last weekend and passed tons of cops and they didnt say a word. I think they know these cars look 100% better with out a big ass white rectangle messing up the smooth black front.
