Couldn't agree with you more. I wish I had educated myself better about this before I bought.
VW should be ashamed of themselves, putting such a lousy, frustrating and virtually unusable ipod set up into such a fantastic automobile.
And the dealers! They ought to be horse whipped for their ignorance about their own product and willingness to tell every customer exactly what they want to hear.
Educate yourself, find a vehicle with the options you're seeking (navigation, ipod integration, etc.) and insist on trying everything out on your test drive before you buy.
