Is there a way to keep the power outlets working even when the ignition is off in my '07 GTI?
They used to be hot at all times in my '03 Turbo S.

I need to charge things when I'm not in the car.

Can this be changed via Vag Com?

Thanks for your help.

It cannot be done via VAG COM. It would have to be a hard wired change and if anything ever went wrong with your electrical system, your warranty would be voided.

An inverter is fine if you want 110 volts AC. An inverter is very inefficient and will draw power even when nothing is plugged into it. Can you say "Dead battery"?

If you are going to wire something to your battery, how about a seperate 12 vdc power outlet?

you can run a wire from your battery to ur fuse box, then to the power outlet. use a 5 or 10 amp fuse. if that seems to complicated you can ask the ppl at autozone to sell you a long wire with a 5 or 10 amp fuse in it. just run that from battery to the DC outlet. my girls friends car has a wire like that running from the battery to her power seat, thats other story.
