Hi...I've been a member for quite some time but never posted till now. I looked at GTI however I didn't take any measurements. I'm thinking with the rear seats down I could load my road bike inside, with the front wheel removed. Don't know if anyone else cycles, but I would appreciate some rough measurements of cargo area. I know they have the bike mount and roof racks but I rather store my bike inside the car also I like the look of the car without roof rack.

With the seats down you can fit the bike with the front wheel attached, or two bikes with wheels taken off. I fit a deep freeze in mine and still had room for other stuff. My parents had a Golf when they lived in Germany and claim to have transported a washer AND dryer in it.

The amount of space in this car is immense considering the overall size. And the utility is awesome. Just the other day I was buying groceries, bring the cart up to my car and open the hatch and realize I left my golf clubs in back (leaving no room for groceries with the seats up. All I had to do was simply reach for the little handle on the back of the 40% portion of the 60/40 split rear seat (you can do this from the back, you don't have to crawl into the back seat and fiddle around with stuff), push it forward, rearrange my clubs so that they are pointing forward through the seat: presto, room for groceries.

As for passenger room, there's plenty. More rear leg room than my Jetta had by far, almost as much as my dad's Audi has.

I recently had to move about 500m down the way from my last barracks (im in the army they do stupid stuff like move you from one building to another for no reason...). Anyways i have ALOT of shit... Man am i glad i had the GTI. I made it in 4 trips and that includes helping my buddys out who had to move also. I was extra careful and didnt stack it up too much to avoid damaging anything. With the seats down you could sleep a family of 4 back there :)

That's why I'm driving one.

I toss my wheelchair in the back every day and believe me that doesn't take up much space at all back there.

I did load up the car with three people and luggage for a road trip and everybody was comfortable.

Love it!
