Hey blackonblackdub, they are many factors which determin the amount of boost you are running on the stock turbo. Factors range from air temperature, humidity, and even ecu programing. The best way to see what your particular car is boosting is to mock up a boost gauge and see it for your self.

I have heard stock GTI MKV boosting from 8lbs upto 13lbs, the only difference is where they live. Elevation of your city can also cause fluctuation in the amount of boost you are getting.

My Gti runs on .4 bar stock . I am in South Africa. If I chip my car they bump it up to .8 bar.

just got a New South Performance boost guage today and i peaked at 19PSI!!!! at full throttle it averages 14-15PSI. ;D

well i have a manual boost next to my engine, which i have a psi gauge next to my steering wheel. I've gotten it up to 13 psi. But i've been told i can drop 18. I dont' know how true that is, but i have it right now up to 13 either way. Thats all i know about it.

mine actually hit 20 earlier today. ill post a pic later (tomorrow) of it at 19PSI. all i have is CAI from Neuspeed, EuroJet EA pipe, and the GIAC chip.

i was hitting 19's before i had my AWE downpipe installed (cat cut off) and now with it i hit 21 PSI! that was my first and only high boost attempt so far. hopefully tomorrow ill test it out a bit more

Hey how's it goin. I want to install a boost gauge to know what i'm running, any details on how to do it? Also does it void the warranty? Now does the car only work on high pressure or does it have low pressure as well, or is that only obtainable in a dual stage, just asking, i got a buddy who installed a dual on his tercel. He runs on low and at a flick of a switch he runs high.

21-22 when car is cool.. usually hold 20 psi till about 5700rpm.
