Eight replies counting yours and mine. And guess which category yours falls into...

It's been my experience that the reception with stubby antennas tends to be decreaased. But with radio station wattages being as high as they are the only times you'll really notice anything is when you're in a tunnel or out in the boonies. Either way, you should be blasting some CDs by that point.

I got the Sharan replica antenna from Parts4Euro.com. $35. I've had it for a week. For the strong signals in my area the antenna is just as good as the big whip antenna. For the weaker stations I have noticed more interference, fading, etc. But I like the little antenna.
