Hey, I'm thinking about attaching a hitch on my 2007 GTI. What do you guys think about this?

The dealership thinks I should get the bike rack. Blech.

I want a hitch!

What do you guys think? Anyone attached a hitch for a bike?

Short answer, no here has admitted to installing a hitch yet, although I think at least two of us are about to. :WELCOME6:

here's the quick answer, basically the bike trunk rack available for the GTI is only compatible with the 06 model somehow...I asked my dealer if I could still try it, and the parts/service manager told me that it would end up denting my trunk
I am going with a hitch, I ordered mine through Uhal for a total of $245 including the installation (I would have done it myself, but I dont have time right now)
its a 1 1/4 inch hitchand with that I will be able to tow a 2000 pound trailer (which I will never do)
I am getting it installed on thursday at 5pm EST so I'll post some picks when its all done
unfortunately, since I am not installing it myself, I cant do a DIY for it...sorry
