I know the answer, but you're not gonna like it.GTfly said:i have another god damn bent rim! . i live in a construction area and the road is not too smooth so i believe i hit a bump a tad too hard. but god damn... now the car shakes 70+ or under hard acceleration... the car still goes straight but the steering wheel vibrates pretty hard :-\.
i have the warranty for rims and tires and i think it will cover this... anyone know if it does for sure?? i called VW and the guy wasnt too sure himself (how great it is to call VW with a question and have them as puzzled as you)
i only heard the grinding noise once and it was not coming from the wheel. it was very odd considering i was only going 25 when it happened. (drove the car soft for about 10 minutes to let it settle down then while entering my neighbor hood on a right hand turn i heard the sound). my car was involved in an accident if you all remember awhile back (someone smashed me at school) but everything is now fixed supposivly... if anything goes wrong within the next few days they should cover it (hopefully). no more 120mph runs though for awhile too scary with the possibility of something falling off the carThalo said:I bent two rims on my old Jetta due to a road hazard and neither warranty nor insurance would cover it. Ended up costing about $1000 for two 15" alloys and 2 cheap tires and labor.
GTFLy, please tell me that this is what was causing the grinding noise and that this isn't a whole separate problem you're having.
wooo... yer a life saver i was freakin out all day thinkin something was gonna drop out from under my car haha... i do think it was that now because i went over a little bump/sewer thing when it happened so it probably slid and then the ESP came on. ;D woo +1 for youavega said:Is that grinding noise happening with the ESP on?? that is what it is... its fine...
