I bought one of the original se-r's back in '92.
Still have it, just gave it to my son to take to
college this fall. It has 120,000 miles on it and still
performs better than a lot of the cars I test drove
this year in my search for a new car for me.
After a number of test drives, Lancer, Cooper S,
Cobalt SS, 350Z, RX-8, Mustang, Civic si and
probably a couple others I've forgotten, the benchmark
for the test drives quickly became....is this as much
fun to drive as a 15 yr. old, well maintained se-r ?
The GTI is the one that won me over.
I didn't even consider the spec V se-r. It's strayed
too far from the original concept IMO.
