yes a gti could be heavier than a passat. 4 door auto with leather and dual climate control.

You guys can actually decipher what he's saying? "the passat could get heavier than the passat", wtf?
auto vs manual

an auto gti is heavier then a manual passat

but then

a manual gti is lighter then an auto passat

do you get it now? a passat COULD be lighter then a GTI

i made this post because i was wondering how the passat is so much bigger then a GTI yet the weight difference isnt all that much

This really irks me. I don't know why.. but the 0-60 on the 2.0T Passat is the same as the GTI according to VW. WHY?!

What the hell makes the GTI so heavy that the Passat is equally fast? Although I disagree with the stats on the website though. I timed myself... i don't know how accurate i was though.

Me my buddy windows and sunroof open: 6.99 seconds
Me alone windows and sunroof open: 6.84 seconds
Me alone windows closed, A/C off: 6.4 seconds.

Now, my tires are super worn ( I only have 7,000 miles.. well, almost 8,000) from all the Launch Control usage. So I think I could get a lot better time if I had nice grippy tires.

I have always known that A/C takes away a lot of power but it never really hit me why all reviews are getting between 6.4 and 7.2 seconds to 60. Makes perfect sense, some are biased and will post the worst and others the best. 6.4 is good though, how much do you weigh?
Roughly 230ish... my friend is short and only weighs about 140 i think. I need to go on a diet to make my GTI faster! haha... I'm also 6'3" but I think you knew that.
