Hey guys, I got my GTI recently and I wanted to know if the GTI floor mats (mats with the red GTI logo) come standard with EVERY GTI? I have standard black mats which are not GTI mats so I wanted to know if I got swindled?

Please let me know so I can bitch out the sales rep! >:D

I think VW is swindling us by not including the mats with the car. It's like let's see where we can make some extra money.

Canadian prices, according to the VW Driver magazine I just got in the mail:
Monster mats: $98
Fabric GTI mats: $163

The markup on those must be huge.

The VW Monster Mats lock into place so they don't slide around and get up under your pedals. It's nice. Is that $98 for the front and rear set? If so, it doesn't seem that bad. More than a generic set, but they look good and fit perfectly.

I'm the same as redshot. They threw mine in also. (I think by mistake) It was on the showroom floor. I wanted a gray one and they didn't have one. The candy white sat there with both sets of mats and the monster tray in the back with the building blocks for holding stuff down.
I didn't pay any extra for any of it. I really didn't want to have another white car. (Already had a white one). But glad I did buy it. Got mine last year the end of March. I guess my fast is going to have a birthday soon. I'll have to order a cake. Or some cool stuff, like wheels, (hard time finding them for the price I want to pay and the size I have to have) ground effects, intake , rotors, springs, and the list goes on.

I got rubber monster mats for my birthday! They're hot.

Has anyone else noticed (I think someone might have mentioned this months back) the passenger side mat has peg-hole things slightly too far apart?
