Hello
I want a gti for my summer car a 1985. Is there any problems with that yr? How much hp do they put out is there any upgrades for power?

Not a bad car but they don't make over 100hp to the wheels. With something that old, you'll want to make sure there is no rust then check the suspension bushings and mounts.

Best way to make power is to swap in a newer VW motor, a 16v or a 2.0l from the 90s

i forgot to add hat it did have a motor swap oops.. i would race rally cross in the car too.

i kinda like the green one but it is a 4door. do you have any other suggestions i am a noob when it comes to Volkswagen

I found a great 85 rust free car but the only promble is that it has no interior. Is that stuff hard to get like carpet and headliner and door panels?

For the older cars they cost more and are much harder to find

You could put a 16v in it no problem. I personally would love to do a 1.8t swap, corrado g60 flywheel, clutch and o2a trans, g60 brakes and axles. That would scream...
