Good Computer Games

I used to really be into the old Sierra Computer games - you know, Police Quest, Kings Quest, etc...oh, and Space Quest was the best. I wouldn't know where to start to look for some good adventure games now, does anyone have any recommendations? I don't know if there's anything out there like the sierra games now, but anything simliar where you have to kind of solve things to get further in the game, and I also like science fiction/fantasy.

I miss the good ol' days of Sierra and Lucasarts adventure games. I think the genre is entirely dead, I don't think anyone makes any actual "adventure" games anymore. The closest things are RPGs. For a space/fantasy RPG by far the best games out there are Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. If you haven't played them I highly recommend them, even if you're not too much into RPGs.
I used to be more into the Lucasarts games. Played every game from start to finish several times all the way from Maniac Mansion to Grim Fandango. After that I think they only made one or two more but they weren't any good. Didn't play too many of the Sierra games but I did play Leisure Suit Larry. And Freddy Pharkas. And Police Quest 2.

Definitely check out KOTOR, you can get it cheap nowadays. Especially if you're looking for sci-fi fantasy in particular. The story line is 10x better than any Star Wars movie and it is more or less an adventure game (though more often you're solving problems through dialogue rather than using rubber chickens and pulleys).
