I really need to know if the DSG tranny can stand up to about 325 horsepower on motor. (No nitrous). If it can't than I'm going to go with the 6 speed manual.
its rated at 300HP. i wouldnt push much more then that... as much as i would like to i really dont wanna push over 300hp and kill the 3 clutches in the DSG... i dont even wanna imagine how much money that would be to replace hah.
Where did you hear that it was rated at 300 HP? I've been looking all over and haven't found anything substantial. Only speculation as to what people assume it can do.
dealership told me the 3 small clutches wont be able to handle 300hp. you gotta remember if you have 300hp you will also push atleast 350 lounds of torque.
that i dont know. i would figure torque would be a worse problem then horsepower so there really should be a torque limit over a horsepower limit... correct me if you think otherwise.
well i hope thats not case... i want to put in a K07 in a DSG, not mention a new intake, intercooler, exhust, and a ecu upgrade which would put it up to 296hp by it self. so in other word i'm lookin at 320hp or more at the wheels. say it aint so :'(
I've heard that the an 07 GTI the DSG can handle up to 270 Ft LB of torque and i haven't heard anything from the HP sides butanything more than that and i've heard of people blowing their tranny's.
ouch. thats a bitch. but i heard HPA is comming out with something, not sure what it is, but supposidly it prety much buffs up the dsg to handle more power, i dont know, i should probably look into this...
