This is a poll about your perception of your deal. This is all in fun. Don't take it too seriously.

I got a pk2, 18" wheels, and monster mats for $25k. Not too shabby.
I had about a grand in negative equity on my trade in so I could really afford either package or the 18s. I'm by no means upset, though. The base models come packed with a ton of goodies to begin with. All in all I'm quite happy with the deal I got. I even bought my finance guy a 12 pack to show my appreciation.
I got a good deal fully loaded for only 22400
The only thing that made my deal not so good was the damn GST (Canadian Federal sales tax) and the fact that car prices here haven't really adjusted to the strength of the Canadian dollar. ie: a few years ago a $22K car in the States cost $30K here, when the C$ was at 70 cents. Now the C$ is at 90 cents and car prices are pretty much the same, so really they cost quite a bit more here.
i dont get it they should just make it less are the same value as in the US but not so it bring the value of the dollar down.
They just have a price set for Germany, a price for the U.S., a price for Canada, etc. If people keep buying cars like this for $30K, why bother reducing the price just because in real purchasing-power-parity terms it should be lower?
a standart gti here in spain, costs 27600 euros, which is around 30 000 dollars !!!!
I couldn't sit down after my deal, and I couldn't even wipe away my tears before State Farm tagged in to take a turn.
My deal was um you see the sticker on the side from the factory..... Thats what your paying NO wiggle room or anything thrown in.
Leased, but my family does business with the leasing people so we get mad discounts... Oh yeah!
not to shabby, paid 300 dollars under the invoice price. Just very glad to have my first GTI.
my car was fully loaded execpt lether and on 18s and i paid in cash 25500 with everything...tax.lowjack etc.....
hi all, this is my first post. i'm picking up my new 2006 relfex silver mk5 saturday morning. it is a package 1 (roof/sat) with DSG and has a sticker price of $25,250 (destination included) --i'll be paying $23,150 (which includes destination), plus tax n' tags. i'll also be getting the 0% percent financing (36 months) announced for remaining 2006's. edmunds shows the vehicle invoice is $23,195 but i'm not really sure "invoice" means anything. i'm hoping to learn from other owners if this is a good deal for a car with only 250 miles.

now, i'm deciding if i should buy the new/pull-off 17 V Vision wheels/tires from another local dealer for get this... $650. i wish the car had the ground effects kit cos' i think it makes the car look complete (less gray plastic). where can i sell my original 17 inch wheels/tires if i decide to get the V Visons?

thanks --rflexMKV

Hard to believe that any dealer out there still has '06 MkV. I know that on the West coast, there aren't too many (none). And if you wanted an '07 4-dr (I did and got one), it's even harder to get.

Are you sure it is a MkV 'coz a local dealer tried to pawn an '06 MkIV on me. Keep in mind that the MkV is 2006.5 and later. 2006 GTIs are MkIV (I guess) because it has different body style and 1.8 liter Turbo.

But if it is a bonafide MkV, the price quoted above is very good (06 or 07).

You really need to learn how to articulate yourself.

strange. there are about ten bonafide (2006.5) 2.0 MkVs within 100 miles of my location back east --one dealer somehow has five 06.5s and seven 07 MkVs! i figure the zero percent interest and 2100 off msrp equates to 4k off when compared to alternative financing over 5 years. i'll take all the monthly pain I can get for zero percent over 36mo. this scenario was enough to make me buy over the rabbit (2dr auto 17 inch alloys) i was considering at 16,800 without good financing. hmm, that 4 door MkV is also very nice!!!
Got mine for 24Ks. Black DSG #2 w/ Sirius.
Only reason i got the rebate is so the sales person could meet her quota, she knew nothing about the car or the financing...
Very happy with mine ;)
;D I think I got a good deal, 22,500 2007 4-door, Black Magic Pearl, DSG

Bought in Iraq, NO TAXES. Not a bad price considering that I ordered the 4 months ago.
