I have a mark 5 GTI with BC racing coilovers. The alignment guy told me that I would need to cut the tops of my front shock towers for him to get access to the camber plates.
Does this sound right to you guys? And if so, what's the best way to go about it. I was thinking that I would get a wooden dowel to fit the current hole in the top of the shock Tower and then use a hole saw to make it bigger, say 2 and 1/4 in. That way the top of the tower would still have its curve, and hopefully sufficient strength but we would have access to the Allen nuts holding the camber plates at the top of the shocks.
Does any of this make sense, or any good suggestions for me?
