Dead Battery/Locked Hatch

Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, but when the battery dies for whatever reason ::) , the hatch seems to lock itself and you cannot unlock it because there is no manual way of doing so. ...of course, one would think that the logical place to keep jumper cables would be in the hatch someplace, right? ... :mad: :mad: :mad: so....

On my GTI i have a Trunk relase and Gas tank relase on drivers side down below right next to the speaker.

That should not be so. I had my batteries die on both remotes but i had no problem opening it from inside.
