Carfax

Did you know there are some states that do not report to carfax? Carfax is a good guide but isn't always completely correct. You should always have a vehicle looked over by a qualified mechanic before you buy.

I've seen several instances where carfax said there was no reported damage and the car actually be two cars tack welded together, they didn't even have air bags. As the saying goes. Buyer Beware.

I'll post some things you can look for and pics in the future to help you avoid buying a gti with problems. Of course for legal reasons, we always suggest that you have a mechanic and/or body shop check the vehicle before you buy.

i saw an instance of a used cavalier that the body work was complete garbage. nothing lined up, and the paint didnt match. the dealer said it was a clean carfax...clearly it was hit...carfax is useless unless the damage was so severe it was borderlined totalled
Do you think it is safet to trust carfax? It could be all lies.
carfax should be used though but in addition to other things like as mentioned looked over by a mechanic
