I really wish I could go to racing school. That would be the ultimate vacation in my opinion. I make at least one track event with the Mercedes Club every year. I will definately get the GTI out there this year. I'm really looking forward to that.

Believe it or not, people pay me to drive their stuff. It's cool though, I understand the desire to take the class. It's the best "tuner" upgrade you can do.

My first book about "how to drive" was by Bob Bondurant. If you can't afford to go to the class, read his book. A little education by the master will allow you to enjoy you GTI more than spending $800. on an exhaust. You'll learn how a car truly moves and how you can control it.

You could, but you'd get more out of the class if you knew how to drive a manual before you get here.

Any driver training school will be able to teach you manual. The best way, though, is to buy a car with a manual trans and learn as you go.

Heh, I learned driving a '68 Ford Bronco with a 3 on the tree on my way home from picking it up (like a 40 mile drive).
