Just picked up my new MKV GTI today. Has 497miles on it.
So far it is all stock but I am off Monday to get the tint put on. Was thinking about getting the chip done by a place called EIPtuneing. Any one know any thing good or bad about them?

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers

Leo

What's sad is that I can look out my window and see the exact same car, but I still click on the pix to take a look. What's good is I still think, what a beautiful car... ;)

It looks exactly like my car when it was new..... clean. Really is the exact same configuration as mine except for the climate control.

Hey does everyone else have some sort of cover on the thing in the middle of the dash (right above the center vents)? Mine didn't come with any kind of cover it's just a big flat platform with rubber on it so stuff doesn't slip around. My fast sits there and my sunglasses when I'm not using them.

Well got that crx one day for 3k about 4 years ago. I did not have a car and had to get one cheep. Drove it all over and when i got to the east cost it shit it self. first honda and the last honda i will ever have. for 3k i would have done better with a CBR600 (bike) or a bus pass.

On a side note. After i brake the car in. I wanted to get the chip put in. BUT is there a chip out that that i wont get busted with when i take the car in for stuff at the shop. Out here in Maryland there is a shop called EIPtuneing. but i dont know much about them. They do chips and all that jazz.

and i also am looking for chips and you can basically put anything on yer car as long as it does not cause the car to break. like if you get a chip and something goes wrong with the engine because of it to replace it will all come out of yer pocket. some with cold air intakes and exhaust bla bla bla. the Revo chip seems to be the best chip for VW right now. i would definitly look into those. 500 bucks and up to 75hp and 107lbs more torque just from the chip. (UP TO). the chip should not affect the car though. just dont drive it like a crazy man 24/7 >:D

Weird... why is there a vent there pointing upward? It's not a windshield defroster vent, cause those are separate. Is that part of the climate control system? Can anyone else who doesn't have the dual-zone climate control confirm that they also don't have this (and instead have a rubber platform to put things on)?

Yeah, I have one, and I've got the package 2. The dealer guy told me it is an air diffusor, supposedly to make the climate control work better... I put my fast on it sometimes when I drive, and it definately spreads the smell of plastic throughout the car. :D

Correct it's an air diffuser. If it is turned on, the center vent's are no longer blowing air.

You're not alone since I think some of the European deliveries have the tray as well. Those of us here in the USA get the air diffuser.

Sounds to me like it's only on package 2/3 or does anyone here have package 1 (which I assume is no climate control)/base model with a diffuser? I've seen the diffuser in new Jettas too, when I look at them from the outside. I'm glad I have the tray though, it's very useful. How often do you lazily put stuff on your dash, not thinking about the fact that it will roll/slide off the next turn you make? The tray is great for keeping stuff in its place. In my old car many I time I had to pick my glasses up from the floor or dig them out from between the seat and the passenger side door (after making an erratic left turn).

Perhaps you should just stop driving erratically? ;)

Nevermind, that's why we bought our GTIs in the first place, isn't it?
